After our third at Kings Forest in the 80km ER where Frenchie was not on his best form, he came out full of running in the 120km FEI** at Haywood Oaks. A change of saddle and daily use of the massage pad has done the trick and we flew round the course to win the class at an average speed of 21.75km/h, an amazing result in a very competitive field. Plans for Pav are also going well and he is sailing through his competitive rides and well on the way to advanced level. Pav loved the Haywood Oaks course just as much as Frenchie and completed the 64km CR at 17km/h, not bad first his longest ride to date. We will take him to an 80km CR in the next few weeks in order that he is eligible for the 80km tyro ER at Berkshire Downs in May. Finally Ruby is also going well and despite having to change a few ride dates I am looking to take her on her first outing in the next few weeks to Beachy Head training ride. No doubt she will take that in her stride and we can start her competitive career very shortly. |
